Mr. Pornchai Thiraveja, Director General of the Fiscal Policy Office and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Finance, stated that in the first 11 months of fiscal year 2022 (October 2021 – August 2022), the government has received 2,239,830 million baht of revenue on cash basis and disbursed 2,894,157 million baht of expenditure. To finance such deficit, the government has borrowed 676,183 million baht. Therefore, the treasury reserve at the end of August 2022 was at 538,665 million baht.

Mr. Pornchai Thiraveja, Director General of the Fiscal Policy Office and Spokesperson of the Ministry of Finance, stated that the government’s net revenue collection in the first 11 months of fiscal year 2022, October 2021 – August 2022, was 2,256,250 million Baht. The collected revenue was higher than the revenue target by 117,898 million Baht or 5.5%, and higher than the same period of last year by 6.8%, mainly due to the collected revenue from Revenue Department as value added tax and corporate income tax expanded following economic, consumption, and import expansion. Meanwhile, the collected revenue from Excise Department was lower than target as a result of the temporary tax cut on diesel to alleviate the impact of high energy prices.

in the first 9 months of fiscal year 2022 (October 2021 - June 2022), the government has received 1,878,346 million baht of revenue on cash basis and disbursed 2,434,146 million baht of expenditure. To finance such deficit, the government has borrowed 621,075 million baht. Therefore, the treasury reserve at the end of June 2022 was at 587,915 million baht.
